Rambling Session - Novels (01/10/2024)

I mentioned sometime back about reading. I have been reading quite a bit for the last several months and have multiple books lined up. Pretty much everything I have read has been on the topic of self-development or business, with a philosophical book or two in there.

These types of books have really been hitting the spot for me because I do crave knowledge and have always been a fan of nonfiction - I prefer documentaries over fiction movies and educational videos over funny clips, etc. Right now my interests have been in the self-development and business space, so that is why these books have been my focus.

This year I want to try to get into some fiction. I can’t tell you the last time I read a novel (to be honest I don’t know that I ever have). My issue with novels is that I don’t really care much for stories. I have trouble getting into thrillers, mysteries, or feel-good, clearly fictional stories. For that reason, I have been trying to find some historical fiction novels, or thought-provoking novels.

Do you have any recommendations?

As for today’s smoke, I didn’t get a picture, but I smoked an Illusione Eperney Le Petit from the Short Smoke’s Sampler. These are sooo darn good. Medium-full in flavor with silky, medium bodied smoke. Pure elegance in a small format cigar!

Take care,

-Trevor
